iostat: how to display all disks - no solution

hi,

although i got a lot of answers and tips (as usual) i could not solve the problem.

some of you told me about iostat's synopsis, others told me about errors in iostat
that might be the reason for my problem.

Kurt Carlson told me about an enhanced iostat prog, which you can find at
ftp://raven.alaska.edu/pub/sois/ , a really nice prog that is worth installing.

but non of your considerations could solve my problem:
i got 3 disks on my system re0, re1, and re2

uashodev shows them:

     1.004 #01:?? Ctrl#00 Slot:02 x001
dev 1.004.001 | re 0 0 0 0 0 0 x001 | re0
dev 1.004.002 | re 1 1 1 0 0 0 x001 | re1
dev 1.004.003 | re 2 2 0 0 0 0 x001 | re2

they are all in use and so surly known to the system.

>iostat re1 re2 re3
      tty re0 re1 fd0 dk3 cpu
tin tout bps tps bps tps bps tps bps tps us ni sy id
  25 26 9 1 16 0 0 0 0 0 16 0 50 34

>./uaio re1 re2 re3
990204.103536 Sleep:1 Iterations:0
   Total re0 re1 re0 cpu
kbs tps kbs tps kbs tps us ni sy wa id
  25 1 9 1 16 0 9 1 16 0 50 5 29

non of the two programs show an error if a device does not exist.

so here i am, with no idea how to get iostats for my re2 disk (the drive i really want
to measure).
perhaps there are some other tools, that could help me.

any further considerations are very welcome.

thx
clemens
