(Subject Was before: No root file system on Ultrix)

Hi all,

sorry but I have again to call for advice concerning Ultrix. I got many
hints to my problem(s. above) like to boot from a CDROM. But I am
obviously to stupid for that.
I have a DECstaton 5000/125, a CD (the only one I found) labeled
"Ultrix and UWS V4.3 Supp/Unsupp(RISC). Includes BOOT/UPGRADE)"
I assumed that this should be bootable. Trying

#boot /3/rz4/vmunix (or something else), I get
?IO 3/rz4/vmunix (bb rd)
The normal boot to the bad disc is 3/rz2/vmunix -a.

(When I do the normal boot (which fails with bad "partion table"
and "not root system") it at least shows all rz devices and in particular
rz4 rrd42 DEC V4.3
this means it recognizes my CD)

Any idea
- is the disk not bootable?
- my boot command wrong?
(I finally found some old documentation for Ultrix V4, and there one
could read "boot form an alternate disk" for a DECstation 500
boot -s -f rz(0,#,0)vmunix
but this never works!)

Regards
Otto
