CDE problems

Hi All,

This is a continuation to a previous post. Config is PWS433au, 4.0E, Open3D
4.9A, graphics cards is Powerstorm 4D51T.

Since upgrading from 4.0D to 4.0E we've been getting some strange problems
with various X applications eg dxaccounts utility fails on local display
but works on remote displays, submenus from some applciations eg print
submenu from dtpad fails to appear. I've tracked it down to Xserver access
failures. The X server is refusing to allow access to the subprocess
attempting to generate the window. From the error logs:-

AUDIT: Fri Feb 12 17:33:37 1999: 646 X: client 28 rejected from local host

Does anyone have any idea what might be causing this or how I might go
about fixing it. A (very ugly) workaround has been for the users to disable
access control.

Since one account which has membership of most secondary groups doesn't
exhibit the problems I'm wondering if it's simply access control or
ownership of a file somewhere. I'm running comparisons with a 4.0D
system to see if I can find anything obvious but in the meantime,
any pointers would be appreciated.

TIA
