Hi managers,
Perhaps this isn't the right list for this problem, but as I use
Xcursion to access my Unix servers and as I suppose that some of
you might use Xcursion too, I use this list nevertheless. But anyhow,
if someone could point me to a more related list, I would be glad.
Here is my problem description:
If I want to connect to a terminal through a RAS connection, I get the
following error message in the logging window of Xcursion and the
connection cannot take place:
... socket(12) failed, error=EAFNOSUPPORT
... bind(152) failed, error=EADDRNOTAVAIL
... X Application Startup Error Network routine bind() failed,
error=EADDRNOTAVAIL.
... bind(132) failed, error=EADDRNOTAVAIL
... X Application Startup Error Network routine bind() failed,
error=EADDRNOTAVAIL.
Here some details:
I used Xcursion vesion V3.0.571 on a Compac LTE 5830 (NT4, service pack
3)
without any problems through the docking station network connection and
also through
the RAS connection.
Now I switched to a Compac Armada 7400 (NT4, service pack 4). Xcursion
performs
without any problems through the docking station network connection.
However, if
I use the RAS connection, I get the mentioned errors. One might think
that this
is a RAS configuration problem, but the telnet connection functions
perfectly
through the RAS connection.
I upgraded to Excursion V7.1.814 on my PC: same behaviour.
Then I installed the same configuration on a Compac Deskpro and an
external modem.
Here, I got NO problems through the RAS connection.
So, the problem only occurs on the Armada 7400 using Xcursion through
RAS. Xcursion
without RAS or telnet with RAS both function properly.
Does anyone have a hint for this problem ?
