Ok, I sent mail out about this before. The conclusion then was to
update the firmware on my Alpha Server 4000. I finally got around
to doing this. Using bootp I updated to v5.3. Here is important
uerf information:
Firmware revision: 5.3
PALcode: Digital UNIX version 1.21
isp0 at pci2001 slot 0
isp0: QLOGIC ISP1020A
isp0: Firmware revision 5.57 (loaded_by console)
isp1 at pci2000 slot 0
isp1: QLOGIC ISP1020A
isp1: Firmware revision 5.57 (loaded_by console)
isp2 at pci0 slot 5
isp2: QLOGIC ISP1040B/V2
isp2: Firmware revision 5.57 (loaded_by console)
isp2 is the device I am having problems with. It is attached to a Storage
Works DS-BA356-S (The S is for shelf series, right?). There is
one DS-RZ1DF-VW 9.1GB drive in this shelf. For some reason the drive is
not recognized. A 'show config' comes up with nothing at the eprom prompt.
Thus, scu and the OS come with nothing as well. I have the I/O module
on the shelf setup with default jumper settings.
Any help would be very much appreciated. Am I not looking in the right
place?
Thanks!
