I've recently changed the ubc min and max percent values on an oracle server
(AS 8400) from the defaults (10 and 50) to 1 and 2 respectively. Prior to
this DECps showed that approx 60% of the memory was free. Following the
change the figures have changed to approx 10% free and approx 75% unmapped.
I've scanned thru the performance manual for unix....but no explanation of
unmapped. So can someone provide me with an explanation of unmapped and can
it be used for say oracle sga which we currently have at 2Gb but may
increase to 4Gb (note this is an 8Gb system) or is it reserved for some
other use?
Thanks,
Dave Campbell
