The problem was the ttys created had a gap in their minor device numbering
(between 111 and 144). Doing a 'MAKEDEV pty_7 pty_8' fixed this problem.

I just wanted a quick sanity check. We've got an AS2100 here running DU4.0d
PK3. Nptys was set to 255. However, up until recently, there were only 111 or
so of each tty and pty devices created. I've since created a total of 160 of
each. The system has NOT been rebooted since I've created the new devices, but
telnetd and others do not use the new devices and we're still limited to 111
simultaneous connections. Was there something I missed? Is there a way to fix
this without rebooting?
Thanks for any help.
