yppasswdd and defunct process

Hello all. There was a submission made about this problem last year, but
no Summary was made for it, so I'm going to ask this question again. I've
got a Digital UNIX 4.0D machine that runs the yppasswd daemon, and
everytime this daemon is started, I always get a defunct process straight
away that's parent is the yppasswd daemon. Can anyone please tell me
what's going on, and how do I fix this? It's been a long standing problem
here, and it's time it was fixed.

This is how it's run: /usr/sbin/rpc.yppasswdd /var/yp/src/passwd -m passwd

Thanks,

------------
