I/O error on diskette

I am trying to Open up a file on a diskette I created earlier. There
are similar files of this same program on my disk and they will open up
fine, however when I try to open this one I keep receiving the message
(I/O Error). What does this mean and what can I do to solve this
problem. I have tried dumping the file and reloaded a new one of the
same and this message is still coming up?
