FOLLOWUP: Digital Unix 4.0E (and constant TCP sequence numbers)

An additional note to my summary from a few hours ago regarding the patch
in the file v40e_mup.tar on service.digital.com. The file
v40e_mup01.README indicates that jumbo patch kit 1 for 4.0e must be
installed before this patch. The reason I felt it necessary to follow up
and mention this is that this requirement is NOT mentioned in the README
file within the v40e_mup.tar. The README file contains the installation
instructions, but does not mention any prerequisites to the patch.

The reason, I guess, why it is necessary to run patch kit 1 first is that
one of the patches, patch 143, modifies or replaces /sys/BINARY/inet.mod,
the same file replaced by the v40e_mup01 patch. Of course, since any
mention of patch 143 has been ommited from the Release Notes for patch kit
1, I can't tell anything more than that.

documentation, documentation, documentation.
