        Hi all,

        I have a only 1Go disk into my dec3000 and 2x 4.3Go outside my
box. So, /usr is onto the 1Go disk and this file-system is
82% full. I have problems if I try to install new softs
(i.e fortran) which wants to install on /usr.
What I want to do is :
        on / : tar cvf /disk1/usr.tar usr
        on /disk1 : tar xvf usr.tar
on / : mv usr USR (only as security, USR will be removed later)
        on / / ln -s /disk/usr usr

        My question :
Is it wise to do this and will it have any chance to
        work ???

        TIA

        JEAN
