The part number of "ECU Diskette V1.11A DEC Alpha" is
AK-Q2CRM-CA, but if you actually want to order it as a
separate purchase, you'll have to order it as a "kit", part
number QA-01YAA-HC. This kit is only $8.80 if you get the
educational discount.
I should have been a bit more specific in my original submission.
I've lost track of my original ECU diskette, you know, the
one that came with my AlphaServer 2100 purchase several years ago.
As some of you pointed out, the ECU diskette is really a part of
buying/upgrading EISA hardware. Sometimes, however, even when
you don't change any EISA hardware, you need to run the ECU,
like when you've done a firmware upgrade, and then you start
having problems related to that. Sometimes tech support will
tell you to run the ECU as part of the fix. Anyway, that's
why I want to have an ECU diskette handy when I do the
firmware and os upgrade next week.
The reason that my DU v4.0D distribution did not have the
"ECU Diskette V1.11A DEC Alpha" is that I ordered part number
QA-MT4AA-H8 which is considered the "full distribution".
If I had instead ordered the "upgrade distribution",
which is some other part number, I would have received the
ECU diskette. When I placed the order, my understanding was
that I would be getting EVERYTHING in the "upgrade distrib"
AND MORE. But this is not the case. Don't ask me why.
Regards,
Paul Youngblood

Hello Managers,
I've seen some submissions to this list that seem to indicate
that DU 4.0D shipped with an "ECU Diskette v1.11A DEC Alpha".
My DU 4.0D package did not include an ECU Diskette. Was it
supposed to have this diskette? If so, please tell me what
its part number is, so I can have the MRR Group in Compaq
Sales ship it to me. I've got an AlphaServer 2100 4/200
with EISA, so I'll definitely need the ECU if it exists. I plan
to do the upgrade to 4.0D this Monday.
Thank you very much. I'll summarize.
