This was easy, many quick responses.
dupatch allows you to install specific patches, and checks dependencies so
you'll install necessary associated patches.
Alan Davis commented:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You /may/ install individual patches using dupatch, simply select the
patches to install from the setld menu rather than all.
This is not recommended.
The patches are not all tested individually, the whole kit is tested as a
unit. Engineering attempts to document dependencies between patches, but
they don't guarantee that individual patches will work outside of the full
kit install.
Compaq has moved away from individual patches and you should consider the
patch kit an OS upgrade rather than a group of patches.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Problem is, a downtime to install a patch kit is not readily do-able. I need
to install 1 or 2 patches, *while the system is UP*. "dupatch" evidently
won't let me do the install except standalone, so I may need to break it
apart and figure out how to just do the install.
sigh...
Thanks for all the quick responses!!
