Hello gurus,
We have made one of our HP K class servers as a DNS master server.
This is still in the experimental stage. Other Digital servers queried this
nameserver . The preference set in /etc/svc.conf is
hosts : files,bind
When I stopped the nameserver , and tried to telnet to a digital
server it took a lot of time to connect. I removed the /etc/resolv.conf
file and things returned to normal again. My question here is :
Is the digital server trying to query the nameserver ie. doing a
reverse lookup of my PC IP address when I try to telnet it? If so, is there
a way to avoid this or I am missing something that is very obvious?
