Sendmail insists on using non-default interface

I posted a question a few weeks ago about installing a DEGPA-SA gigabit
ethernet card in an AlphaStation 500 with 4.0D and patch kit 3. It turns
out that the installation worked fine, with no problems. My machine now has
two network interfaces; the old 10BaseT interface (tu0) and the new 1000FX
interface (alt0).

alt0 is configured as the first interface in netconfig. tu0 and alt0 have
different IP addresses.

Most things run through the alt0 interface, except for sendmail. I'm using
sendmail 8.8.5. According to headers of outgoing mail, sendmail is relaying
traffic it receives on the alt0 interface out the tu0 interface. How can I
make it relay traffic out the alt0 interface? I don't know a whole lot
about sendmail configuration files, unfortunately.

Thanks,

Pat McCormick
