The original question was:

I'm looking for a way to make password aging happen without implementing
C2.
Any suggestions?

All agreed that DEC has altered standard unix so you cannot without either
installing full C2, a rump version of C2, or writing scripts to get around
this.

This matches what DEC themselves have said as well.
O, well, I guess I will have to install C2 at some level.

Sigh, changing a standard(more or less) unix password implementation is like
something microsoft would do, could compaq/dec be infected?
