atom warning messages

Managers;

We are trying to use atom with third degree to track memory problems and
array bound errors. The tool works fine when we work with a program
without shared libraries.

However, we are having a problem using atom with a program that needs to
link to some third-party, commercial shared libraries. Atom needs to
"instrument" the shared libraries as most errors involve some part of the
libraries.

The man pages claim that atom works with shared libraries, so we pass in
the flag to allow it to find the libraries

atom net.sim -tool third -L/space/mil3/4.0.A/sys/dec_alpha_osf1/lib

atom: Warning: Shared library
'/space/mil3/4.0.A/sys/dec_alpha_osf1/lib/libsim.so' has very old
relocations, ignored.

Any idea what "very old relocations" might mean?
Is there some method to get atom to use these libraries?

Thanks for your help
