IP addresse for ASE DISK SERVICE

Hello all;

I have two Alphaserver 1200 with Digital Unix 4.0D and Truecluster ASE
1.5 installed
with patchs installed (patchs of UNIX and ASE shipped on October 1998).
Systems share a Raid ARRY 7000 with a HSZ70 RAID controller( HSOF V7.1).

I had setup two mirrorsets on this Storage .
My problem is : When i create a ASE disk service without assigning any
IP address
                            to that service , all wok fine.
                    but When i recreate it with a IP address the service
failed whith the following
                    error message :
Agent Error: Timeout Waiting on /var/ase/sbin/nfs_ifcnfig action
completion
   Director error: Can't add service .
Hosts file is the same on both systems .
can everyone advise me .
