Dear fellow admins,
my question had been:

> The MTI Gladiator 6700 or IBMs VSS or even EMC are potential candidates.

Summary:
There are some third-party raid solutions with Tru64 and TruCluster out there,
namely one with EMC Symmetrix and one with an MTI Gladiator 3200.
No problems so far. However, some features like dual-pathing are not usable
with current Tru64 versions.
Support for these two vendors seems to be quite good.
However, some people had concerns about compatibility and prefer to stay with
COMPAQ.
Thanks a lot,
Peter
