making applications use a certain network interface

My eyes have gone blurry searching for information on this.

How would you go about getting certain applications to use
certain network interfaces on a system.

I have 2 4100's and 1 8400 all running 4.0D.  They all have
a token ring card and and ethernet card.

The token ring carries most of the traffic, and I'd like to use
the enet for bulk data transfers, ftp, httpd and other stuff.

But, I either can't find or have missed the info on how to
arrange this.

I know you can use static routing to force the system to use
one network when going to another network/system but
can it also choose the network based on the application
that is running.

Thanks in advance

probably good enough.
