Hello Gurus,

Hardware: DEC 3000 Model 300 LX, 96 MB memory
Software: DU 4.0B with patch kit #3 (I think)

The machine startet to crash, usually with

panic (cpu 0): kernel memory fault

sometimes with other messages. I ran the mememory exerciser memx
and it reports some errors like

Tue May 4 11:27:56 1999
memxr8: Data error in memory:
VIRTUAL BYTE = 40392ca0 GOOD = 55 BAD = ffffffa3
VIRTUAL BYTE = 40392ca1 GOOD = 55 BAD = fffffff4
VIRTUAL BYTE = 40392ca2 GOOD = 55 BAD = 42
VIRTUAL BYTE = 40392ca3 GOOD = 55 BAD = 65
VIRTUAL BYTE = 40393160 GOOD = 55 BAD = ffffffc6
VIRTUAL BYTE = 40393161 GOOD = 55 BAD = ffffffc6
VIRTUAL BYTE = 40393162 GOOD = 55 BAD = ffffffa6
VIRTUAL BYTE = 40393163 GOOD = 55 BAD = ffffff82
VIRTUAL BYTE = 403936e0 GOOD = 55 BAD = ffffffc4
VIRTUAL BYTE = 403936e1 GOOD = 55 BAD = ffffff85
[error printout limit exceeded]

I think, I got a memory problem. Is this true? And which memory
module is it?

TIA
Gerhard
