I am having a problem when I boot my AlphaStation 500/300. I get an error
during boot-up after the vmunix symbol table is loaded.

panic (cpu 0): get_first_free No free Memory!

DUMP: no primary swap, no explicit dumpdev
             nowhere to put header, giving up

I get the same error whether I try to boot to the hard drive or CD ROM.

No memory or any other hardware component was added to the machine. The
only "new" thing that has happened lately was that I upgraded the machine to
DU 4.0E. But, it worked fine for a few days since I upgraded the machine.
The problem first appeared when I turned on the maching after having it
turned off for a little bit. I do not know if this problem is software or
hardware related.

I would appreciate it if anyone had some solutions to this problem

Thank you;
