When taking a Digital Unix Alpha (4.0B) into single user mode I get :-
Halting processes
Init : single_user mode
Bc_hostname : cannot find a hostname program
Enter run level (0-9 s or S) : S
It then loops and gives me the same error again until I try something other
than single user.
This message appears whether I use :-
'Init s' or 'boot -flag s'
Has anyone any ideas here as I need to get into single user mode to start an
upgrade. Are there other ways I can get the m/c to single user mode ?
