SUMMARY: Multiple root accounts

Thanks to the MANY people who responded.

Most suggestions involved using 'sudo' to allow the user to do a shutdown.

Some suggested setting suid for the shutdown/halt commands. I couldn't get
this to work for some reason.

I finally did get DU to accept a second user with UID=0 when I manually
edited /etc/passwd using vipw (and, in fact, Franz Fischer responded with
this same method). I'm not sure why DU wouldn't allow it using Account
Manager, adduser, or useradd.

The most proper answer (haven't tried it yet) came from William Magill who
suggested installing the System V package which will create a user named
'shutdown' that will solve my problem.

Thanks again to everyone,
John E. Taylor
