Elsa Gloria Synergy and multiple visual classes ....

Hi,

I've got an Elsa Gloria Synergy 8MB yesterday and I've replaced my old
ZLXp-E2 with it. I am a bit disappointed, though because the card (or the
X server) does not support different visual types simultaneously. If I
do a "xdpyinfo | grep class" I get either PseudoColor *OR* TrueColor.
But I do *NOT* get both PseudoColor and TrueColor simultaneously which
I had with the old ZLXp-E2 card. This is a pitty because we've got an old
program which insists on PseudoColor visuals and so I'm forced to run the
card in 8bpp mode and thus have all those color limitations.

Is there any way to circumvent this? Is anyone here getting more
than one simultaneous visual class on this card?

This is my current configuration:

- DU 4.0E
- Open3D 493
- options to X: -screen0 1280 -dpms -vclass PseudoColor -vsync 75

As an aside: What is the difference between these subsets:

OSFSER3D435 X Servers for Open3D (Windowing Environment)
OSFSER435 installed X Servers Base (Windowing Environment)
OSFSERPC435 installed X Servers for PCbus (Windowing Environment)

Do I need OSFSER3D435 for Open3D or is OSFSER435 sufficient ?

I was hoping for a remedy for the problem by installing a new Open3D
version but it's still the same.

Also using a mixture of "-vclass", "-depth" switches does not
help.

Any ideas anyone?

Thanks // Tom
