ftp: 550 Arguments too long ?. What tunable parameter

Hi all

I ftp from TRU64 ver4.E to SCO Unixware 2.12.
Login and cd to /bla/bla/*.
do ls *. All fine and returns 1189 filenames
do ls *.zip. Error 550 Arguments to long.

I thought the problem was on the SCO box and tuned the SCO ARGMAX very big.
Still same problem. Then I tried the same from SCO to SCO and all fine.

I seems it is a tunable parameter like on SCO ARGMAX. I cannot find any
related tunable parameters for TRU64 ver4.E.

Thanks in advance, can anybody help.
