Can anyone shed light on why a remote dump doesn't work?
[root_at_exciton]# /sbin/dump 0uf gluon:/dev/nrmt0h /
DUMP: Date of this level 0 dump: Thu May 20 08:45:34 1999
DUMP: Date of last level 0 dump: the epoch
DUMP: Dumping /dev/rrz2a (/) to /dev/nrmt0h on host gluon
DUMP: mapping (Pass I) [regular files]
DUMP: mapping (Pass II) [directories]
DUMP: estimated 507991 tape blocks on 0.25 tape(s).
rdump: Lost connection to remote host.
DUMP: Bad return code from dump: 1
but if I do the dump locally, it works fine.
also a remote tar works fine (tar cvf - home | rsh gluon dd obs=10k
of=/dev/nrmt0h)
