I have been trying to configure PPP for a workstation running 4.0D.
I am a novice at PPP and networking side of computing

The PPP connection works, and the remote Macintosh can talk to the
workstation.
The problem occurs when I want open a telnet session on an other
computer on our lan or use ftp, or ping
the packets or connections timeout.

The setup for PPP is handled via the /ect/ppp/options file with the
settings:

asyncmap 200a0000 # XOFF, XON, and ^] (the default telnet escape)
escape 7e,7f,fe,ff,93 # 7-bit and 8-bit variants of rlogin escapes
                        # 0x93 is XOFF or-ed with top bit (0x80)
mru 296 # IP header plus 256 more octets
xx.xx.xx.25:xx.xx.xx.15 <==== xx's filled in with real ip address
domain livestock.org.nz
usehostname
proxyarp
remotename macintosh

Have I missed a something in my configuration ?

TIA

Bevin
