Backups in a Datawarehouse environment

Hello:

Does anyone have any experience and or information on doing backups for
over 3TB worth of data. We have three 8400 DEC Alpha Servers that store
approximately 3TB of data and will grow to over 4 TB of data by the end
of this year. Because of such large amounts of data that need to be
backed up, we need to look at newer technology to be able to accomodate
our backups within a reasonable time frame. We currently use the
mammoth 8mm tape drives which holds 80 tapes and 4 tape drives. The
tapes can hold up to 70Gb of data compressed, but we have not been able
to get more than 50Gb on a tape. One of our servers has over 1TB of Unix
and Oracle data that needs to be backed up in one night. We are
currently backing up over a sepereate 100MB ethernet segment, using
networker save and restore. However, the backups are currently taking
over 24 hours to complete. I am particularly interest in those who also
support a Datawarehouse environment that has large amounts of data such
as ours. However, any info would be appreciated.

Thanks,
