Below is the orginal question. We received response from a number of folks
but nothing worked. We also rebuilt the server from scratch, and
still receive the error message. We have taken the position that it
is not hurting any thing so we are going to live with it. We think
that the messages are related to the CDROM scsi towers on the system,
but have not removed them to verify, because we need them to serve up
      various disk.

Hello,

I noticed today that I have a problem that I have not seen before. In my
uerf when a system we have is booted the following error message occurs:

DDR: WARNING: Unable to obtain Device_Information Database
          Unable to open file /etc/ddr.db
DDR: WARNING: Basic Defaults will be_used.

I have checked the /etc directory and there is a file and the permissions
look okay on it as compared to other systems I have. Can someone tell me
what is the purpose of the file, the possible reasons I am seeing this
error and how to correct the problem.

Thanks for any assistance.
