Trucluster ASE 1.6 with AS2000/DS20 members and RA-3000

We're planning to set up a Trucluster ASE (1.6) with DS20 and AS2000 members
(a total of 3 members). They will share a Raid Array 3000 disk system.
According to our supplier this configuration is supported.

However, according to the TruCluster ASE 1.6 documentation (section 2
'hardware restrictions and requirements', subsection '2.7 RAID array
controller restrictions', URL:
http://www.unix.digital.com/faqs/publications/cluster_doc/cluster_16/TCR_HWC
FG/TITLE.HTM), the only systems that are supported in a TruCluster ASE (1.6)
with the RA-3000 are the

  AlphaServer 800
  AlphaServer 1000A
  AlphaServer 1200
  AlphaServer 4x00

systems. This excludes both the DS20 and the AS2000 models. Have we been
offered a impossible configuration here, and should we refrain from trying
this setup (DS20/AS2000, RA3000, Trucluster ASE 1.6)?
