Vacation? Better functionality.

Hi
has anyone got a version of vacation as good as the solaris
implementation. I've compiled up the FreeBSD one which has support for
response timeouts (with -r timestamp) and it also uses berkeley DB instead
of DBM. However that still does not do stuff like string substitution in
the vacation message file. eg. under the solaris version the string
$SUBJECT will be replaced by the original message subject in the
.vacation.msg file when a response is sent.

Any pointers to better implementation most welcome
