How do you determine the IP Address you connected with?

I need to create a script that can display the IP Address, DNS Name and
Ethernet Address.

I currently have the script using last, but I was hoping that there was
something else that could give me the IP address of the machine I was
connecting from. I see that finger gives me this information also, but if the
user is logged on more than once, I would have to figure out which one is
which.

Any simple system call that can return the IP address of the current process?

Thanks.
