X Display

I am trying to set my X display to 1024X768. I've tried adding 1024x768 at
the end of the line in the /usr/dt/config/Xservers file, but this did not
work ( I did a x reset, copied file to /etc/dt/config/Xservers....).

I'd like to know what the proper syntax (file?) to change the resolution in
X world, and IF somebody else is using a S3TRIO, what are the supported
resolutions.
