I received some answers (and also the ExploreZip Trojan Horse Program :-) )
which all recommended to use GNU m4.
This is of course a solution, but I thought that 3 years after the first
implementation of Digital UNIX 4.x somebody at DEC (and now Compaq) should
have corrected m4 ...
Is the problem even known to Compaq ??
