Setting LG04 Parameters

Managers:

We're having problems setting the form length on an LG04 printer. We
have both set the printer configuration via the LCD window setup on
the printer itself, and tried submitting the commands via print filter.
In the latter case, we have run the program output through the filter
and checked the results with 'od' and it looks like it should work.

We've tried using and not using the (soft) reset before issuing the
commands which should set the lines per page and the top/bottom
margins (DECSLPP and DECSTBM) as specified in the DEC LG Emulation PRM.

In any case, however, the printer is reset to 66 lines before the job
comes through (we're trying for 42). The printcap specifies 42 lines,
but we doubt that's effective because that entry also specifies the
print filter, and the output goes through a LAT port on a DSR700.
We're aware of nothing availabe via LAT that would affect these
parameters.

We're wondering if anyone has any suggestions on where else we might
try to set this process to run correctly

TIA,
Michael
