Greetings
I have tried (on several occasions) to change the screen resolution on
Alphaserver 1000's, using the on board Cirrus graphics.
I have copied the /usr/dt/config/Xservers to /etc/dt/config/Xservers
and then modified the line:
:0 Local local_at_console /usr/bin/X11/X :0
to:
:0 Local local_at_console /usr/bin/X11/X :0 -screen0 800
(I have also tried modifying /usr/dt/config/Xservers although this is not
recommended)
This has an effect on the display i.e. it is reduced in size to approx 5" x
4" in the middle of the screen, I am sure this is changing the resolution
but is also somehow changing the size. (N.B. The screen is a 15" Digital
screen VR?15)
Do I need to apply some other parameters in addition to the '-screen0 800' .
Does anyone have a list of all the parameters that can be supplied to the X
command, with a useful explanation of them. The man pages I have looked at
seem somewhat limited.
Thanks in advance
Kevin Jones
