TeX and LaTeX

Hello,

A user complained of not being to be able to use latex. Like a good
sysadmin I started to install the package. However, I noticed that
the files were previously in place. The old sysadmin did not see fit
to install to install any of the man pages.

I am not sure what distribution of Tex is on the system (common Tex?)

$tex
This is TeX, C Version 3.141
**

As mentioned earlier it looks like all of the files are in place. I
think that I just need to make a shell script to envoke tex with the
right arguments. I would be much indebted to someone who:

1. knows how such a script should be worded

2. has installed Tex on DU. I am thinking of doing a clean install
including all of the man pages.

I will definitely post a summary of this.
