<My statement>
I am confused. I just upgraded my system from 3.2g to 4.0d on a 4100.
I did
Firmware upgrade,
4.0a upgrade
4.0d upgrade
patches upgrade.
This is my first time at this, and I don't know if I did everything I was
supposed to.
What I am worried about is the StorageWorkds RAID Array 200 software.
When I was doing the upgrade it stated that
StorageWorks RAID Array 110 Utility for DEC OSF/1 V1.2.0
StoragWorks RAID Array 200 Management Utility V1.1.1 RV11
may require reinstallation after upgrade-install.
I tried reading the documentation and it states I must have
my KZPSC at a certain version.
My question is - when I did the Firmware upgrade, did it also upgrade my
KZPSC if I told it to upgrade all?
Also, how do I get the latest version of Storageworks on my system. I
read the DOC that came on the CD, but I must be reading the wrong doc.
I says I must be at a certain version, and it has some files, but doesn't
tell me how to install them. -- I am thinking part of the problem is that I
am looking at the CD from my Windows system, and I am getting the
wrong info. Maybe I need to look at the info from the Digital box?

I just went through the same thing (well, similar.. I upgraded from 4.0B to
4.0D.) The firmware for the KZPSC is NOT upgraded with the rest of the
firmware. I had to speak to someone on the Storageworks team to find this
out. Go to the following URL and follow the directions in the rcurel.txt
file. You basically have to create a diskette and flash the KZPSC firmware
from the ARC console. I also have a KZPSC controller and was told to use
the SWXCRFWP.249 file, but make sure this is the right one for you or you'll
hose your controller. Good luck.

Also.
The OSF RAID management utility is an utility that is used to monitor the
status of your RAID board
from the OS. There is one version for S.Os previous to 40.x and another
version for newer 4.0x versions.
You will need to get the latest version in order to have that functionality
in your machine, but not installing it will not prevent your board from
working, it will just mean that you will not be able to monitor its status
from your OS.
