NIS Master/Slave Server Env., while Master fails.

Folks,

I setted up a NIS Master and a NIS Slave Server on DU4D without
any Packs. The clients know both servers.
Everything works fine, during both servers are running. But when
the Master-Server fails (shutted down), I cannot log in from
any clients anymore. The login procedure fails with the message:
Can't rewrite protected password database.

Does anybody has any clue?
