Boy, do I feel foolish! The key on the front of the TZ887 was switched to
"manual" mode instead of "automatic". Many thanks to Alan Nabeth for
pointing out our error.
My original question was:-
When issuing the command "robot load slot 0" I get the following error:-
LOAD failed on /dev/mc12b: Robot Illegal request. SENSE KEY: 5, ASC: 53,
ASCQ:2
Thanks again to Alan Nabeth who responded with:-
"According to the appendix of the SCSI spec that lists all the
standard error codes, 53/2 is:
53 02 MEDIUM REMOVAL PREVENTED
Verify the front panel key switch is in the position that
allows media changer commands. If that's ok, ship the
media changer an unload command, which will send the Allow
side of Prevent/Allow media removal. Whatever the case,
it seems clear that the media changer isn't allowing the
command. MRU is just the messenger (as usual...)."
I switched the key on the front panel to automatic and issued a robot load
slot 0 from our 4100. We are now able to manipulate our media changer using
MRU
