Hi All ,
The Sybase server uses the shm-max variable .
I want to increase this beyond 1 GB .
If I do , do I also have to increase the
        vm-maxvas
        max-per-proc-address-space
per-proc-address-space (this is 128M , what should it be )
        max-per-proc-data-size
        per-proc-data-size

Also whenever I increase the shm-max and the dataserver
is started with the same size it never reaches the limit .
>From top :

PID USERNAME PRI NICE SIZE RES STATE TIME CPU COMMAND
 1244 sybase 46 0 730M 671M sleep 17.3H 42.30% <dataserver>

If I set it to 500 , it only ever gets as high as say 450 etc .
Is there something else I am missing that maybe works on
        a percentage basis , or is this a sybase thing ? .

Thanking you ,
