scsi adapters not recognised

Hello All,
I recently installed a KZPBA-CA scsi adapter in 2 4100 Alpha's (they form a
trucluster situation) and then rebooted.
I was led to believe that each system would recognise the new hardware and
reconfigure during boot up.

However, I can find no reference to them in uerf on either system, nor any
appropriate syslogging messages.

The purpose of these adapters is to connect to a Bustech Datablaster which then
connects to a mainframe and allows the Alpha's to think that the Datablaster is
a tape drive.

Should I now 1) take each system down and check at the bios level to see if it
has recognised the hardware? If so, what commands do I run?
2) rebuild the kernel? If so, with what options?
3) something else?

Any hints and advice will be greatfully received!

Thanks, Ruth Belin
