I wrote a message two days ago: "I have an inconsistent in a domain with
version 4.0E. I canīt mount this domain in my Operating System. Is it
posible recover it?. Please, can you help me?. SOSOSOSOSOSO. Thanks in
advance."
Neil.Luff_at_capgemini.co.uk answered:
We've just had a similar event.
First check that there is definitely no problems with the disk area holding
the domain. Then run verify to try to fix the domain
/sbin/advfs/verify domain_name
If that doesn't work you'll have to recreate the domain and restore from
backup.
BUT IT IS NOT SUFICIENT FOR RECREATE MY DOMAIN. THE ERROR WAS THE SAME:
"Domain inconsistent"
wolf_at_chaos.gwdg.de answered:
did you try do mount it by hand and which errors do you get
make
ls -al /etc/fdmns/your_domain
to get the logical device name and mount it with:
mount -t advfs device-name mount-point
is it only one part of a disc or the whole disc? is it an advfs domain???
Wolf
BUT THE PROBLEM WAS THAT I CANīT MOUNT MY ADVFS AND IT IS NO THE ANSWER
CORRECT
alan_at_nabeth.cxo.dec.com answered:
I believe the usual solutions are:
1. Run /sbin/advfs/salvage to recover as much of the data as
you can, then recreate the domain and copy the data back.
2. Recreate the domain and restore from a backup.
If you don't keep your backups very current, the order I
used is probably a good one, with the slight change of:
salvage
restore from backup
copy newer salvaged data back
AND IT IS PERFECT, CORRECT, OK, INCREDIBLE, THE ADVFS WAS RECOVERED 100%.
THAN YOU VERY MUCH ALAN, THANK YOU, THANK YOU....
AND THANK YOU VERY MUCH NEIL AND WOLF TOO.
