Hi,
My system keeps on complaining that my / file system is full.
The machine is an Alphaserver 4100 running UNIX 4.0D with patch 1 and TruCluster
1.5.
Below is a portion I extracted from /var/adm/messages:
Jun 30 20:01:33 sincmas2530 vmunix: /: write failed, file system is full
Jun 30 20:01:34 sincmas2530 last message repeated 45 times
"df -k root_domain" would show that I still have lots of available space:
Filesystem 1024-blocks Used Available Capacity Mounted on
root_domain#root 256000 65296 183744 27% /
Using other commands such as showfdmn and du would also support the above
information.
One odd thing I noticed is when I do a vdump on /, the bytes backed up was
greater than the total bytes:
vdump: Status at Sat Jun 19 03:02:07 1999
vdump: Dumped 109438043 of 80061531 bytes; 136.7% completed
vdump: Dumped 150 of 150 directories; 100.0% completed
vdump: Dumped 3323 of 3323 files; 100.0% completed
vdump: Dump completed at Sat Jun 19 03:02:07 1999
Has anyone experienced this type of problem before? Any suggestion on how I can
fix this problem?
Thanks,
Carlos Chua
