Hi Gurus,
Thanks to:
- Tim Winders <twinders_at_SPC.cc.tx.us>
- "Jan Mark Holzer, UEG" <jmh_at_zk3.dec.com>
They pointed me that I can add/change the SIMMs without change the UNIX
itself, and the SO will find/use as much memory the box had!
Well, I had tried it. The system boots up and find 160Mb (4x 32Mb + 2x
16Mb SIMMs), but when it will load the X the screen turn green (or blue)
and the system crash!
Is it a symptom of defective memory? Or the POST check will find bad
SIMMs after all UNIX subsystems come on-line? Can it be a bug on my DU
3.2c (it's a very old release)?
Thanks in advance,
Antonio.
