We are installing Sendmail 8.9.3 on dec unix 4.0b. As anybody who has
installed this will know, it is much more severe on permissions. We can
get sendmail itself to work with all directories reduced in permissions as
recommended in the docs, but binmail then wont deliver local mail because
it cannot create the lock file in the /mail sud-directory.
The permissions on /usr/bin/binmail are:
-rws--x--x 2 root daemon
Surely as this is SUID binmail should be allowed to write the lock file.
What are we doing wrong?
