Hi managers

when I straight away followed procedures and do it..it is not
successful..DU Ver 4.0D

after encapsulation and when you give a volrootmir command, it says
ROOTVOL and SWAPVOL is not there, add disk to a rootdg (diskgroup) and
try again.

obviuosly, the volencap command supposed to add rootdisk to rootdisk
group (LSM mode) and add names for root and swap as ROOTVOL and
SWAPVOL.
In case if I want to start from scratch.

1.voldctl init
2.reboot
3.encapsule (here the manual says, even the rootdg group is not there,
it will create one and add rootdisk to the group and create volumes as
ROOTVOL and SWAPVOL)
here , I am getting a message that rz8a,b,g,e already set for
encapsulation..
4.so here if you type "volrootmir", again back to square one..
5.if I want to volunroot to break the mirror if at all exists, it says
plex count is not given..

Our system has two unused partitions in rootdisk and all partitions as
unused as prerequsites for this action as put in the manual.

I want to reinstall OS as the last option.

do I have to recreate a rootdg and manually add the rootdisk to this
group, make subdisks/plexes/create volumes etc...in this case, the
initialisation process after adding the rootdisk may destroy data.

Your help will be highly appreciated.

Regards
AlphaAdmin
