I have a Compaq Alpha XP1000 workstation, running Tru64 Unix 4.0f. It is
equipped with an ELSA Gloria Synergy Graphics Card, and a Compaq P110
Monitor. This graphics card is suppossed to support resolution up to
1600X1200, as doew the monitor. It is currently set at 1024X780 since I
reinstalled Unix (It previously was set to 1280X1024, which is the desired
setting). I have searched the list server archive and have tried several
things.
I have tried the following changes to the /etc/dt/config/Xservers file:
Original
:0 Local local_at_console /usr/bin/X11/X :0
To
:0 Local local_at_console /usr/bin/X11/X :0 -screen 1280x1024 -vclass
Pseudocolor
:0 Local local_at_console /usr/bin/X11/X :0 -screen 1280x1024 -vsync 72
:0 Local local_at_console /usr/bin/X11/X :0 -screen 1280x1024 -vsync 74
:0 Local local_at_console /usr/bin/X11/X :0 -nice -2 -screen0 1280
and the following change to the Xserver.conf file
adding -vclass TrueColor -screen 1280x1024
or -vclass PseudoColor -screen 1280x1024
Each of the changes was made individually, not in combination with any of
the other changes. With each of these changes I either got a message that
Xserver couldn't start, or it would try to start, try several video modes,
and then abort the Xserver start.
Does anyone have any ideas what to do to get the resolution bact to
1280x1024. Your help is greatly appreciated.
