NOTE!!! Brand new Unix admin - 2 weeks of class, about 5 weeks
experience as of today!! Please go easy.
I have an Alphaserver 1200 running DU 4.0d that I am getting ready to
install a third party app onto. The app's representative has requested
that we mount disks drives from an OpenVms Alpha running 7.1 as if they
are local to this unix server. This would make it much easier to access
the data. I am barely familiar with NFS but I think it is unix to unix,
or that was how we did it in class.
Anyone done anything like this? Please send replies to
smithmr_at_bowater.com and I will summarize. I have one suggestion from
Niels Roetert that Ucx will allow this to happen. The OpenVms machine
is currently running version 4.1 eco 9 of Ucx.
